2007 visit to DisneyWorld

Maui has been my home for over 10 years, but I have also lived on Kauai, where my father was born and raised, and on Oahu and in Southern California. 

I went to California State University at Long Beach where I studied education and art and continued my education with University of Phoenix completing degrees in business and a graduate degree in education. 

I have worked in non-profit, youth organizations and as a teacher since 1990.   I have taught English at Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus and St. Anthony Junior and Senior High School here on Maui.  I now am a virtual teacher with Kihei Charter School as well as University of Phoenix online.

Kokua means to help and I am believe in and am active with organizations that help others and help our environment. Some of the organizations I volunteer for and donate to are the Big Brother's and Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Public Radio, The Maui Humane Society, and The Maui Family YMCA.  Currently I am heading up a recycling project in collaboration with Maui High Schools and hotels.

Po'okela means excellence and it is my goal as your teacher to provide you with superior service at all times.
