BUMBER STICKER ENGLISH http://www.internetbumperstickers.com/front.html

Bumper Stickers are short messages that people put on their car bumpers. They are usually funny, but are sometimes serious, too. My favorite is "Time flies like an arrow; Fruit flies like a banana!" Now you can use Internet Bumper Stickers to tell people about your feelings! You'll find almost 200 different ones to choose from on this link. They're fun to read, but you can also save them to your hard drive, and then send them in an email, or put them on your web site.

Your Turn:
Review the hundreds of Bumper Stickers in class and read these online and see if you understand the meaning or why it is funny. Ask your friend what he/she thinks about the meaning.  When you've found your favorite bumper stickers, try to write a few of your own!!

In class we will talk about the font, color, size and graphics used and if it impacted the meaning or your understanding of the bumper sticker.  What about spelling or grammar, did it play a part?  If you couldn't figure out what a bumper sticker meant, was it because of a lack of background knowledge?  Were some just to be funny?
