Daily SURF
Silent Uniterrupted Reading for Fifteen minutesDaily homework for all English classes is to read for pleasure for at least 15 minutes. You can read a novel, newspaper or magazine. Read something you love and interests you.
* SURF journal will include reflections on the reading in class, thoughts/quotes for the day.
POETRY
This quarter we will review poetry. Here are some links you may find interesting and helpful.
This quarter we will continue with:
*MUG
*Wordly Wise - lessons 9 - 13, sections a - e
* Text book - Expository essasys (chapter 8-10)
* Text book - Parts of speech, verbs and adverbs (chapters 16, 17)
* Text book - Grammar, commas and other punctuation
There are 3 major projects due this quarter.
1. Expository speech and essay. Due the last week of January.
2. Book report and 3-d project. Due February 20th.
3. Poetry power point portfolio. Due March 7th.
